The University of Manchester campus today.

The Museum of Medicine and Health is one of the most extensive collections of medical artefacts in England. The collection is both a significant educational and cultural asset.

As part of the University’s Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, the Museum of Medicine and Health has close links with a major international centre of research and education in Manchester- The Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine.

The Museum is therefore uniquely placed to engage with research and educational activities both in science and the humanities. Using the collection, the Museum contributes to exhibitions and research projects, and run events to aid outstanding learning, student experience and public engagement. Additionally, the Museum of Medicine and Health supports our Faculty’s Social Responsibility priorities by placing science in a social and historical context.
